It’s a small world
I love going to trade shows. One of my favourites is Landscape Ontario’s Expo 2011. I zoomed down Thursday morning only to find out that the show started at 10:00 am rather than 9:00 am. I had to wait, but it was a good thing. I got to meet John and Lee Dickie.
John and Lee fly from Nova Scotia every year to buy products for their garden centre, The Briar Patch Farm & Nursery. Not only were their plant people (YAY!) but they also knew Jodi DeLong, gardener and author of Plants for Atlantic Gardens.
Apparently, John and Lee live only ½ hour away from Jodi DeLong. They were thrilled that I had reviewed Jodi’s excellent book a couple of months ago.
The show opened and we went our own way, John and Lee to buy more products and I went on to salivate at all the great stuff displayed in the booths.
Ain’t life grand when it’s a small world?

A small world indeed, Cristina! I’m so glad you were able to meet John and Lee, two of the nicest people in Nova Scotia’s hort industry. They genuinely love plants and gardens and landscapes, and they’re keen to try different things and always encouraging people. I like them very much and their nursery is one of my favourite places to shop!
