It’s ShowTime!
It’s ShowTime this week!
Canada Blooms and the International Home and Garden Show both run this week. Confession time…
I have a soft spot for the International Home & Garden Show:
- The garden show (Successful Gardening Show) is small and intimate
- I’ve been invited to speak there three years in a row
- I’m speaking on one of my favourite topics, kitchen gardens
- I was asked to do a 3-minute segment for CityTV’s Breakfast Television.
Although the Successful Gardening Show at the International Home & Garden Show is a lot smaller than Canada Blooms, it has it fair share of interesting seminars by local gardeners.
Some of best speakers include:
- CityTV’s Frank Ferragine (aka Frankie Flowers), a great entertaining speaker
- CBC Radio Ontario Today’s gardening guru, the knowledgeable Ed Lawrence.
If you’re trying to pick your way through the info maze of making your garden eco-friendly, you can’t go wrong with
- Belinda Gallagher (Royal Botanical Gardens’ new head of horticulture)
- Miriam Goldberger, founder of WildFlower Farms and promoter of Eco-Lawn.
Of course, I will there on Saturday (March 20) at noon to give a talk on how to create an edible landscape (aka kitchen garden) that’s easy on the wallet and the environment.
Hope to see you there!
International Home and Garden show runs from Thursday, March 18 to Sunday March 21 at the Toronto International Centre, 6900 Airport Road, Toronto.
