TV interviews and Successful Gardening Show!
Just came back from an interview with Hamilton’s CHCH TV show, Morning Live. I was lucky enough to be interviewed by the warm and insightful Annette Hamm. I didn’t know what to expect, but the whole Morning Live team helped me along. And yes… CHCH has put the interview online for all to see!
I was told by the International Home Show publicity coordinator, Shannon Smith (Kim Graham & Associates), to bring a few garden art items to the interview. I zoomed over to Lakeside Garden Gallery just before they closed yesterday. Jim Crupi, the owner, helped me pick up a few items for the show. The gazing ball/sleeping fairy was an inspired choice. I was tempted to keep it…but I could see my dog playing with it (he loooves balls).
Anyway, I arrive on set this morning…and I realized that I should have brought some plants to pretty up the display. Not all was lost. I noticed a Schefflera in a vase of water and a struggling Pothos in a square pot. I quickly added them to the display. What a difference. Even in a display, garden art always look better with plants.
Anyways, I’m looking forward to visiting the booths and chatting with people at the International Home Show and Successful Gardening Show this weekend. And yes, I am giving a talk this Saturday (April 2nd) at 4:45 pm. Fun, Whimsical and Crazy Gardens. Last talk of the day…hope to see you there!
