Spring has sprung!

There’s nothing like seeing early blooming bulbs to convince a gardener that spring has definitely arrived!

Last fall I planted early blooming bulbs — crocuses and snowdrops — knowing intellectually that their bright blooms and fresh green leaves would make a difference after a long dreary winter.

Well, come spring, I know in my heart that early blooming flowers are a must. What a difference these little gems make. Finally spring is here.

i adore the fragile, snow crocuses, but their fleeting nature wants more. For me, it’s the Hellebores that mark the real celebration that spring is coming.

Good comment, Kari. Hellebores are wonderful. And depending where you live, they can start to bloom in mid-winter. Here, in Toronto hellebores don’t begin blooming until March or April. Sounds like an early spring flower to me.
